I can get my hands on several bags Coast of Maine gardening soil http://www.coastofmaine.com/soils.shtml#cobscook

Would this be good for container vegetables? What can I mix in with it to stretch it so it goes farther? Would peat moss work? If so, in what parts should I mix the 2 together?
I’m looking for a budget friendly option that I can add to the Coast of Maine soil.

I am thinking about putting up a large ceramic pot on my porch for a container water garden. I have a few water plants, and I was just wondering if I HAVE to have some kind of air pump or filter to keep the water circulating? If so - would a bubble stone work? Also, do I have to add some kind of vitamins to the water to feed the plants or is it just ‘plain water’?

I am looking for plants/flowers that are perennial and have a lovely fragrance/colour. Something hardy that has a decent length of flower (not april to may for example, more like april to september)
Some colour combinations would be great as i really want to make the bed stand out with colour.
Also, they will be in the sun for most of the day. Not so bothered about winter as when t gets really cold I will move tem into the garage. I live in East midlands of uk
